In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

The Striking Calamity -

Transliteration

AlqariAAatu

Chapter 101 : Verse 2

مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

What is the Striking Calamity?

Transliteration

Ma alqariAAatu

Chapter 101 : Verse 3

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?

Transliteration

Wama adraka ma alqariAAatu

Chapter 101 : Verse 4

يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ

It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,

Transliteration

Yawma yakoonu alnnasu kaalfarashi almabthoothi

Chapter 101 : Verse 5

وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ

And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.

Transliteration

Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni almanfooshi

Chapter 101 : Verse 6

فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],

Transliteration

Faamma man thaqulat mawazeenuhu

Chapter 101 : Verse 7

فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ

He will be in a pleasant life.

Transliteration

Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin

Chapter 101 : Verse 8

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

But as for one whose scales are light,

Transliteration

Waamma man khaffat mawazeenuhu

Chapter 101 : Verse 9

فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ

His refuge will be an abyss.

Transliteration

Faommuhu hawiyatun

Chapter 101 : Verse 10

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ

And what can make you know what that is?

Transliteration

Wama adraka ma hiyah

Chapter 101 : Verse 11

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ

It is a Fire, intensely hot.

Transliteration

Narun hamiyatun

Chapter 101

The Striking Calamity - [1]

What is the Striking Calamity? [2]

And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity? [3]

It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed, [4]

And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up. [5]

Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds], [6]

He will be in a pleasant life. [7]

But as for one whose scales are light, [8]

His refuge will be an abyss. [9]

And what can make you know what that is? [10]
